Our community needs better. Out students deserve the best.
I am a proud fifth-generation Texan and a dedicated advocate for public education, civic engagement, and community-driven leadership. Born in Irving, I moved with my family to Flower Mound at the age of nine, where I attended LISD schools—Bridlewood Elementary, Downing Middle School, and Marcus High School.
My passion for education and public service runs in the family. My mother, brother, grandmother, and both grandfathers all dedicated their careers to education. My mother spent her entire career as an elementary arts educator in LISD, and my grandmother worked as a substitute teacher in the district for many years. My grandfather contributed to higher education as a university administrator, instilling in me the enduring value of educational leadership and service.
I pursued higher education at the University of Oklahoma, where I earned a BA in Economics and a BFA in Drama. While at OU, I found my calling in public service and the political process, gaining experience through internships and political campaigns, and later consulting on efforts to empower individuals to create meaningful change.
After my time in Oklahoma, I returned to North Texas, married my high school sweetheart, and settled in Highland Village—right next to my wife’s childhood home. With a background in political action and a strong commitment to citizen empowerment, I have spent years working to strengthen communities by promoting civic engagement, fostering collaboration, and driving positive change. I’ve been proud to lead political education campaigns and initiatives that unite diverse groups to pursue common goals, demonstrating the power of collective action.
Running for the LISD Board of Trustees was not something I initially set out to do. However, as I watched parents, teachers, and the broader community being left out of any meaning involvement in the decision making process, it became clear that change needs to happen. I had hoped others would step forward to run, but as the filing deadline approached and no one had stepped forward, it became clear that if I wanted to see change in our district that it was my responsibility to take action.
As my wife and I prepare to welcome our first child, I am more committed than ever to ensuring that LISD remains a place where students, teachers, and families thrive. With a deep personal connection to the district and a professional background in leadership and policy, I am ready to serve with integrity, collaboration, and a vision for LISD's continued success and growth.
